Street Lava Flow by niteangel Street Lava Flow by niteangel
Street Lava . Hong Kong Central
Shooting with the talented =geckokid ; Canon 400D; 18mm at ISO 100; HDR image using Photomatix

I know the sky is too noisy. Anyway.

Photography is always one of my greatest interests. Through it, you look at things more closely and in a more detailed way, and so you can understand the world more, and learn the way to present things when doing your art.

Smashing... lol. Anyway, could I haggle a wallpaper version from you?

Thanks ;) but a wallpaper version may not be possible because this piece is vertical in portrait mode. I think it would look bad on a landscape-mode monitor, no?

True. Though if the photo's orignal picture is large enough (in my case at least 1680px wide), one could crop it... a lot of the image then lost but hey. xD

It's not to matter though, I've since got me a cityscape of Tokyo. :3

love the photo :+fav:
the colors are bright and so interesting, no blur AT ALL, i like the composition but maybe there is too much in this picture, not that it's a bad thing because i could stare at this for a whole hour lol and i discover a new element each time i look at it.

love it!

heyy just a question, what was the velocity you used? im eager to start to experience with this kind of photography.
thanks : D

when a place is presented like this -- it electrifies the mind -- and creates the fire -- the burning desire to capture every city in this light -- later days

This is great. I've also seen Jackie Wu's take of it.
I love photography too, when well done. I don't mean just the "snap a picture on vacation" kind, but the kind that shows you the fuzz on a bee's ankles, the liquid of a cat's eyes, the shadow of a slum, the fear in the eyes of an oppressed woman, the gleam of metal upon the city...

I absolutely love this photo, it's really active and the colours are striking! I'm afraid my comment can't get much more advanced than that, but once again once I see something I like, it's not just anything! :+fav: from me, you've really done something great here, massive well done to you niteangel =D

the way you were able to capture the effect of long exposure (with the streaking headlights) and yet still be able to see the cars by doing an HDR shot is awesome.

How did you take an HDR shot with a long and then short exposure without having things move too much? Must have been hard.

Thanks ;)

There was a little trick. I chose the time where the traffic lights stopped all the cars. Then I shot. When the first shot (around 10-15 sec) was done, it would start another one with shorter exposure, and the cars started to move. Finally, the cars were moving and the third image was made, which has the longest exposure. That means, the moving cars are mostly in the third shot. That will reduce the number of moving lines ;)

For the people, just can't do anything =P

You could get a megaphone and yell: "ok, now everyone hold still" for the first exposure. Then yell "ok, now move again."
