Panorama stitched from 5 images using Photoshop CS3. This is the place where you have three sides of ocean, ie, the Atlantic Ocean. If you swim from here for seveeral months, you will reach New York.

wow great panorama!

you gotta fix the horizon line on the left side though - the sea doesn't stay perfectly straight where two of the photos join

if you dont mind me asking... how do you do a panorama? After 2 years of photography I still have no idea how.

You take a bunch of photos within an angle by turning your camera, like from left to right, with overlapping areas. Then use programmes to merge them. Photoshop > File > Automate > Photomerge

I use Realviz Stitcher too :D

Okay, i'll try. The last time I shoot it from right to left using 17mm, and it didn't work. :(

17mm? That sounds too wide and things should be distorted. Use some standard lenses instead like 28 or 35mm ;)

If your images are very distorted and already shot, you can use the Stitcher > Tools > high distortion to stitch the images :D hehe...

But you shot at 11mm, thats even more :P

If I am shooting panoramas, I use the 35-55mm lens ;) If I am using the 10mm lens, I don't need panorama since it can capture the whole view already! ;)

I thought you said you used the Canon 10-22mm to shoot this?
Reply
:iconniteangel:

No, it is always better to use a normal standard lens for panorama shooting to avoid distortion. Either you use a wide-angle lens, or you stitch panoramas, to get such an open view ;)

An almost surreal image, so amazing to behold natures landscapes.
Can barley tell where you spliced them together, well done.

What's the font you're using on the bottom left-hand corner? Also, what opacity is the "Vincent Lai .a8.net" line set to, assuming it's #FFFFFF like the top line (assuming the top line is #FFFFFF)?

Fantastic shot! Extremely wide angle shots are awesome, and the location you chose is a perfect candidate for this type of photo.

Good to see you back safely :)

haha...isn't it always considered to be dangerous?

Actually when we were there we came across some pickpockets. They were trying to steal stuff inside my dad's bag. They pulled the bag open but my parents already realized. Then we shouted on the street and the two pickpockets dare argue and shout back, and even mock at us. That's really not a good experience...

I remember my mother telling me that she saw people throwing Molotov cocktails when she was in Spain, but I don't know if that was in Madrid. I guess that still counts as dangerous though =P

I don't think I've ever had a pickpocketing experience, it has to be really weird to catch someone as they try to steal from you... that person has to feel like an idiot.

The nerve of some people...

I heard on the news the other day that some drug dealers are mixing a drug (ecstasy I believe) with a sweetener so that it appeals to young children. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We're talking kids younger than ten. It's ridiculous.

Very nice dude, just watch out for the "ghost" image on the right hand side(on the right of the girl in red taking a photo). should be pretty easy to clean up with the clone tool :)

Very awesome panorama. Aside from the ghost though, the horizon of the water-- where the water meets the sky-- isn't entirely straight. There's a really noticeable bump near the left side. It might just be me being anal though but thought I'd mention it anyway. Looks like you had an amazing trip though. I'm quite envious!

yeah, this is not a perfect panorama  I guess it is all because of the wide-angle lens...anyway
