Everlasting (with WP) by niteangel Everlasting (with WP) by niteangel
Everlasting . Rhythm of Light
Merry Christmas everyone!

Just managed to finish this while I don't think it's completely done in a way. I would welcome more suggestions, as always. This is actually the first image I used nearly all the colors from the rainbow. Everlasting means not ending. Just like the colors. Just like the lights. They are forming this world. They are the elements of life, and they never perish. They keep changing forms and create new stories. It is all about stories. It is all about reforming. It is the love, passion and lust.

I love you, Jacque. The story we share, is everlasting.

**** This is a small version because ppl keep ripping my image. Click here for larger version [link] Thanks ***

**** Edited. Wallpaper Version can be found on my website. [link] sorry for taking your bandwidth but that is my only way to defend from the rippers. Prints also available now. ****

Undone is sometimes an fruitful contemplation. 'Reminded
of a colorist, kindred-spirit and instructor 50 years my senior. When asked how does one know when a canvas
is finished, the answer was--just before you think you are!
Her second lesson plan involved 'running the gammit of
color around a specific light.' You've nailed the study and with tenderly marring caramel with turquoise right and center of a convergence that's bold, I'm sold. You're told.

Interesting contemplation that maybe the work is undone? 'Reminded of my first instructor, a kindred-
spirit and colorist. She was 50 years my senior and
when asked how she knew when a canvas was finished,
her reply was, "just before you think you are."
Her second lesson plan was 'running the gammit of
color around a specific light.' You've nailed that notion
and one can easily be sold when turquoise marries
caramel tenderly in a bold study. Bravissimo.

I can't seem to download this awesome piece of art on your site. It just doesn't load the download screen. Very weird! And the links don't work either... Can you fix it? I'm really anxious to see it on my desktop ^_^

I checked again... I have to click the Download as wallpaper link, right? Yesterday it didn't do anything. Today it at least loads something, but then it just stops... Very weird. Must be something wrong on my side I guess ^^

I hope it'll work eventually though!

I love the swirls in the right side, but the left portion of the render seems a little too straight for my liking; too forced in that area.

Everything else is awesome, especially the blending of colors and lights. At the moment as I write this, your larger links don't work. =(. Shame. I'd like to see it larger. Awesome piece.

There is a certain irony in this image: it's titled 'everlasting' but it's apparent that something is coming apart, and that something is being destroyed. What then the unsettling juxtaposition of the image and the title. I think that in viewing the image through the lens of the title one must undergo a certain ideological repositioning to understand that it is not what is being destroyed that is everlasting, but what is destroying. It is easy to laud the dangers of 'nature' in these last days with the chaos of the Asian peninsula foremost (but sinking) in most minds, but I think this piece addresses a timelessness, an archetype that this latest distaster has freshly illustrated for us, that struggle of the mortal against the immortal, the timely v. the timeless. 'Everlasting' crystalizes the struggle that remains immenent in everything that we do as men, and the hubris inherent in any of the frail promises we make as men, placing our faith in steel over flesh, or buildings over brothers. That our breaths might outlast our buildings is absurd, but we continue to read Shakespeare while the houses rot and the castles have become museums. Tho there was beauty in this construction, here we see all of the beauty of its destruction, the moment of disintergration shows every color involved in its building spread uselessly across the vastness of the space that contained it.

Wow, that's so true in a way that you linked the two events and form a comparison.

Tho there was beauty in this construction, here we see all of the beauty of its destruction, the moment of disintergration shows every color involved in its building spread uselessly across the vastness of the space that contained it.
You described the whole story without any flaws. In some way I never really realized that, "the beauty of destruction", while many people would not tend to take the notion that destroying something can be beautiful.

You don't mind if I post this in my journal for more people to read this? I think it's more than art. I love how you relate to our reality too.

 thanks!~ Hope you are good these days!

Of course I don't mind. You can always post whatever I right. I'm always just proud to have a chance to interpret what you've drawn. I think our partnership is really really productive. I was on Angelworld last night getting a good look at your pieces so I could write about them and I saw you had our abstract story up and I was really touched. I'm so glad that it means enough to you to continue to feature it on your website. It's always nice to get a chance to work with you Vincent. You care so much about what you do, and its so apparent in everything you create. Your love of art, emotion, and craftsmanship is so palpable, and that's so uncommon in this world. So thanks for letting me be a part of it.

 It is good to have you here too. For me, what can I say if there is such a great writer who is willing to understand what I did while at the same time inspires me back? I have been enjoying what you wrote, and even today those words written in the past are still very powerful and intriguing.

Indeed, the Abstract Story we have is something that cannot be forgotten. It is always there I would say, and maybe when we have time later we can do that again.

Thank you too

im in love with it... with the right side of it
its bright, has beautiful mixed colours, is detailed, dynamic and just awesome
the left side of it is very different-simple, not chaotic and has the typical abstract style

the right part of it carries a feel you know
thats what i think
while the left part ... dunno

anyway ... its beautiful

oh, and by the way:

Advanced Critique Encouraged
This user has opted to encourage critique-heavy comments for this deviation in order to better help him or her improve. Critical and non-critical comments are welcome, but critical comments are most appreciated.

don't select this if you dont want it. you dont want to improve. you dont want to hear anything except praise. anyone who offers you any kind of criticism is shot down in flames by your over swollen artistic ego.

its shameful.

and whilst you may have 'airbrushed' lots of colours, you havent done it with any kind of seam or flow. it's haphazard, disorganized and completely lacking in composition. i may not 'airbrush' my colours, but at least i have suddificent skill to use complimentary colours in an organized fashion.

don't cast slurs on me, i gave you the rarest thing there is on deviantart: honest criticism. if you're going to do that, then don't expect to ever hear from me again, because if you cant hack it, then you aren't worth the effort.

direct quote from me
"i say this as your friend who wants to see you release the best you can, not as someone who wants to knock you.'

direct quote from you
"and so if you say so you are just showing your hatred instead of trying to give comments."

i don't have any hatred for you. what i just offered you was the kindest thing any artist can do for another. if you can't see that, it's completely self evident as to what your motivation is in terms of creating art.

But don't try to use "honest" to cover your "advanced comment". They are different. Just like depthCORE, change is not degradation.
