Dedicated to someone I know here, a girl. Though she probably doesn't like this, I will still send this to her.
This is my expression for my femininity appreciation. A feminine presentation. The image talks about cycles and my feelings towards the ladies. The loop go from the butterflies and then in anti-clockwise direction. (1) Butterflies represent the completion of metamorphosis of beautiful ladies, and then above them (2) is the universe. Ladies are universe of mine, deep and infinite, confusing and mysterious. (3) Then roses are on the top left implying the moment like a model catwalking with confetti falling down. (4) Then the middle is the feathered wings, representation the birth of real angels. (5) Finally the bottom right, blood red area, is the lust of femininity.
ALL MY LOVE TO HER
Edited OH MY GOD I can't believe this is featured even this was released some time ago. Thanks for all the appreciation!
In a blinding visceral crescendo of pink hues and hot white amber, this work by Vincent Lai hits us strong and heady like an Aphrodisiac. Deep with meaning and executed with style, this vision will brighten any day. (
i do love it and the choice of colours and lighting, but the butterflies turned something that could bring almost sultry feelings out, to something much too innocent. but that's just me, and i'm not very innocent anymore.
First of all, I am not a fan of abstract, but this one just made me one! Anyway, I was always wondering how you made these.
Were they NURBS or polymeshes? ? Are they procedural textures or painted textures? Are they fresh renders or heavily editted in Photoshop? And are the lightning (in your other works) renderable splines or from plug-ins? Sorry if it's too much 3d speak, but I myself use max but only model polymeshes. Not too much in abstractions. I can see planes and spheres in your work, if I'm not mistaken.
Hope I can get a reply. Still, it's all cool and stay cool!
I can't remember exactly the details, but I think you can visit my website and check the articles about the making of other pieces, and you will get a brief picture. Most of my pieces involve several renderings and I paint heavily in Photoshop too.
It is all about your imagination, both on concept and on the execution. Have fun!
